Manchester United take on Real Betis in the first leg of their last 16 Europa League clash as they aim to make amends for their Liverpool humiliation last time out

Manchester Unitedwill be looking to bounce back from theirLiverpoolhumiliation when they return to Europa League action.

The Red Devils shipped seven at the home of their arch rivals on Sunday, just seven days after winning the Carabao Cup. It was a stern reality check but several trophies are still on offer for United this term with a European clash against Real Betis their next assignment.

Barcelonasaw off Spanish opposition in the last round, beating Barcelona on a memorable night at Old Trafford with Antony scoring the winner. Betis now stand between them and a place in the last eight with the first leg to come at home.

The LaLiga outfit are currently coached by Manuel Pellegrini, who has previously been in charge atManchester CityandWest Ham. In both those roles he beat United and will be aiming to do so again with a side who currently sit fifth domestically - just three points off theChampions League.

Casemiro remains an injury concern for the Red Devils, having picked up an issue at Liverpool. The Brazilian is also one booking away from a European suspension with the likes of Christian Eriksen and Anthony Martial still long-term absentees.

Betis secured a 1-0 win over United back in December when several clubs played in friendlies whilst the World Cup was ongoing. Nabil Fekir scored the only goal in the second-half, but the Frenchman will not travel to Manchester for the clash on Thursday evening.

Pellegrini has told theGuardianon the gulf between the two sides: You cant compare Betis to United. Even getting the chance to face them is pure hope. The former City boss has also claimed that, whilst thePremier Leagueremains the best league in the world, he believes the better football is played in LaLiga.

United will host Real Betis on March 9 at 8pm with the return leg at the Estadio Benito Villamarn to come a week later.
